Mycelium devouring a roll of toilet paper. 🧻 This is the vegetative body of fungi that will hopefully produce Oyster Mushrooms 🤞🏼 It’s pretty amazing that all living things- humans, plants and animals will eventually be consumed and returned to the earth by fungi. They are the major decomposers of nature.

Mycology has been described as a neglected megascience. There is so much to learn! Highly recommend the book, Entangled Life, by @merlin.sheldrake. It will blow your mind. 🤯🍄🤯🍄

Favorite discovery of 2020 - worms love old Bees Wraps 🐝. After a year or so, when they lose their stickiness and won’t cling, it’s time to compost them. You can cut them into small pieces and add them to your compost pile. Or, for our fellow worm farmers, they make great little worm blankets. 🛏🪱😊
